Lesson 2: Configuring and optimising your Profitroom modules
2.1 Cross-Sell Add-Ons configuration
The Cross-Sell Add-Ons module needs three decisions at first setup: which room types are eligible for upgrade offers (all, or start with the highest-volume type); which add-ons to enable (upgrades, early check-in, late check-out, breakfast, airport transfers, spa credits, F&B vouchers); and the pricing rules — start with an 8% markup on upgrade offers and adjust after the first month of data.
Use the "Confirmation page" delivery mode for the first two weeks. Review the daily performance report and note which offers get accepted and which get ignored. Adjust price and imagery for underperforming add-ons before you turn on the email delivery mode. Only add the email delivery when you have confidence the confirmation-page conversion is stable.
2.2 Booking Recovery Automation configuration
Booking Recovery Automation ships with four preset messages: booking confirmation, pre-arrival (sent 3 days before arrival), post-stay review request (sent 24 hours after check-out) and win-back (sent 90 days after the last stay). Each template is editable in the module's template editor. Personalise the sender name, subject line and body copy to reflect the tone of your property.
Check the default Profitroom webhook configuration for your account: open Booking Recovery Automation → Webhook → Status. The module registers a webhook against your Profitroom account automatically on activation — verify it appears as "Connected" in the Profitroom admin panel under Integrations → Webhooks.
2.3 Twilio SMS Confirmation configuration
The Twilio SMS Confirmation Extension needs: your Twilio account SID and auth token; a verified sender identity (short code, long code or alphanumeric sender ID depending on your market); and the delivery schedule (default: booking confirmation on creation, reminder at H−48, check-in instructions at H−4, post-stay thanks at D+1). For markets that require alphanumeric sender IDs, set the per-market sender ID under Settings → Senders.
2.4 Building an Advanced Analytics dashboard
Create your first Advanced Analytics dashboard: open Advanced Analytics → Dashboards → New dashboard. Add KPI tiles by drag-and-drop from the available metrics list (occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, arrivals, net revenue, 7-day pickup, channel contribution). Save the dashboard and set the refresh cadence (default: 15 minutes for occupancy and ADR; daily for pickup and channel contribution). Share the dashboard URL with your revenue-management team.
Tracking module status
From Modules → Status you can see the timestamp of the last successful sync and the error log for every active module. Configure email alerts for sync failures under Modules → Alerts → Configure. The recommended setup is an immediate email whenever a sync failure exceeds 30 minutes.
