Lesson 1: Getting started with Profitroomshop
1.1 Access your Profitroomshop Client Area
After your first purchase you received an email from Profitroomshop containing a link to create your Client Area. If you cannot find that email, go to the Client Area access page and enter the email address you used at purchase — a fresh access link will be sent to you immediately.
Profitroomshop uses email-delivered access links rather than passwords. Each link is valid for 30 minutes and grants access to your dashboard. Access links are sent to your registered email address, so keep that inbox secure — access to your email means access to your Profitroomshop Client Area.
1.2 Dashboard orientation
On your first sign-in, the dashboard shows your active modules, connection status and a billing summary. The primary navigation gives you access to: Modules (active subscriptions and their status), Settings (Profitroom API credentials, billing information), Reports (per-module usage reports) and Billing (invoices and payment history).
1.3 Connect your Profitroom API credentials
Open Settings → Connected Profitroom account. Enter your Profitroom API key and the API endpoint URL. If you have not yet pulled these from your Profitroom account, follow the Profitroom access guide step by step before you continue.
Click "Test connection". Profitroomshop will make a test call against the Profitroom API and confirm your property name, active rate plans and permission scopes. If the test fails, check: (a) the API key is copied in full with no trailing spaces; (b) the endpoint URL is correct; (c) the API key has the required scopes.
1.4 Activate your first module
Open Modules → the name of the module → Activate. Every module walks you through a specific configuration before going live. This normally takes 5 to 15 minutes. The module status flips to "Active" once configuration is confirmed. The first data sync runs within 15 minutes of activation.
1.5 Check module status
The Modules dashboard shows the timestamp of the last successful sync for every active module. A green indicator means the module is connected and syncing normally with your Profitroom account. Amber means the last sync finished with warnings (details are in the log). Red means the module has lost the connection to Profitroom — check your API credentials under Settings.
